Easy in and out for big rigs. Great staff provides assistance backing into sites and will go out of their way to help you with any problems. Morning curb side trash pick-up makes it easy to take the trash out! Emergency "Salisbury RV Repair" master mechanic will come to your site if you need anything fixed. I would give this place a 10 out of 10 except that the lots were a "little" close together for me... but it's also a great way to meet new neighbors, so there's good with the bad. We had some fun "cock tail hours" here. I would definitely stay here again. It's about 1.5 miles from Salisbury Beach. Walk to ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, fried clams & fish , etc. right next door at a local joint - very good! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Owners and staff extremely nice. Ray(owner)makes it a point to personally greet every camper who stays at his park. Campround so meticulously well kept and clean! The pool is nice also. We only stayed here for the night, not extended stay. It's a smaller campground a short drive from the ocean. We liked the fact that it was very neat, clean and had level cement pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was spotless, both in terms of grounds and restrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The park was about half empty while we were there, but sites are very close together and back-to-back. If you seek privacy, then this is not the place for you. Very small spaces, basically a parking lot. Mostly locals, a little bit of a party atmosphere on a weekend. Very close to beach. A little hard to find. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a gem! Clean and secure; close to the Atlantic Ocean. We arrived late on the first night and they would not accommodate us which was the only disappointment, no late check in. But the RV park is one of the nicest we've ever been to in so far as cleanliness. You won't be disappointed for $35 per night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very friendly well kept park. All utilities worked well including WiFi. Although the roads were wide, parked cars made it very challenging. The sites are nice but with our 40 footer there was very little space to park our car. We had to have cars moved to get our rig in and out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our trip here started as just a stop on the way to Maine, but we just LOVED Beach Rose! This is a lovely little park, with friendly owners, and a super clean big pool. There's a bicycle path from the park to Salisbury State Preserve Beach, which is beautiful. (as opposed to the Salisbury town beach with isn't great) We'll definitely return on our next trip north. No complaints at all, (although it is pricey but you get what you pay for), especially in the middle of summer. Very tidy park with all the amenities. Wifi and cable great and included in site fees. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sealed roads and concrete pads. Would disagree with earlier comment about Salisbury Beach. It would need a lot of work before raising its status to "Dump" level. Would stay here again, handy for Boston and Salem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Loved, loved, loved it. We came in late and they were waiting for us. Very helpful getting us to our sites. Kids had a blast participating in campground events. Nice clean campground, Concrete pads, full hook ups, good for big rigs. Good home base. The train to Boston is an hour ride and $7.50 from Newbury Port. Did laundry in the AM did not have hot water. $1.50 a load .25 for eight minutes of dryer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park, not much to do there. Ok, pool that you need to shower before uses, and you need to pay for! Nothing much else there. Salisbury Beach is a Dump, stay away, Hampton is a very nice beach, Salisbury State may be nice, but we did not see it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was planned around big rigs. All sites will fit the biggest of rigs. Roads are wide with plenty of shoulder space. Staff will guide you to your site and help you back in if you have any problems. The entire park is spotless. Owners are on site all day and always available for questions or concerns. We did see some well behaved pets and a couple of short stay tenters. All sites are 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, cable, and phone hookups. Gated security. Well thought out and planned activities on some weekends. Shuffle board, horse shoes and a small arcade for the teens. Wide roads and enforced speed limit make this park safe for little ones to ride their bikes all day. Minutes away from some great state parks on the beach in Mass. and New Hampshire. One of the best parks we have been to. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Upon check-in we requested a site that we could renew beyond the three nights requested should we decide to stay longer. We were told no problem, and the camp had many open sites during our entire stay. We went to the office to renew and they refused to renew our site. The staff said that it was rented and if we wished to stay we would have to move to another site. NOW. We decided to just go on to our next destination if we had to pack any way due to the work involved. Nobody on the staff had bothered to warn us that we needed to move or leave, and we found out accidentally by going to the office to renew despite our previous request to potentially stay in that site longer. Instead of heading to the beach we now had one hour to pack and move our unit. We told them after packing that we would like to park the camper in their acres of empty parking lots while we went to the beach since our plans had been disrupted and they said NO! Yeah, I love good customer service. Frankly it wasn't worth renewing any way since our site was pathetic, way too small even for a pop up, and afforded zero privacy. We had to encroach on the neighbors to put out our tiny awning. Further the toilets were overflowing daily and the baths were not clean. The showers cramped my petite body, and my husband could barely fit into them. Quiet hours were not enforced and kids roamed late into the night, smoking, lighting fireworks, and cussing. A woman of mature age walked into the bathroom one night, smacked a beer down on the shelf, used the facilities and walked out. Tacky. I now see why the other campgrounds are booked every night of the summer and this one has tons of vacancies! Steer clear, as we will in the future. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a campground with close proximity to Boston. There is a commuter train nearby for access to the city. The sites are relatively close together but the grounds are covered with wood chips and look nice. We did not use the pool, the rest rooms were clean and tidy. There are many 'seasonal' sites here and on the week-ends the place is busy. However, during the week everything quiets down. The location is right off the I-95 but there is no traffic noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This camp ground was just OK. There are no activities for kids at all. The pool area is a Joke. Also, they have a 35 lbs. pet limit. ( or so they say ) We have a Yellow Lab and when I called to see if I could bring her they asked me if she was over 35 lbs and then they said no, she or us will NOT be allowed in the campground. They said they are very strict on this. So I put her in a kennel which was $200.00 when I get there the first thing I see is a St. Barnard way over 35lbs. Then I see a golden Ret. again over 35 lbs. I say something to the office people and they are like we will take care of it, Needless to say the dogs were still there all week. So the people who work there in my eyes are all frauds and lies. Will never go back there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a family campground with lots of kids around, that is what they advertise as. It is so so for motorhomes and older couples with no kids. Our site was ok, not good but not bad either. Both of the young women we talked with in the office were very friendly. Good location to visit Salem and/or Hampton Beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Ridiculous price if it weren't for the slight proximity to the ocean. Our awning touched the back of the RV next to us and they were quite small! Very crowded with tent campers, so many trees, we had scratch damage and no satellite. Not a friendly staff and very unlevel gravel site. People next to us had no sewer and begged to use ours. Would not return or recommend for any reason. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was OK, pretty much as advertised. Nothing special, Lot of seasonal gusts, but generally kept nice. Spaces are a little tight. But again that's what the guides said. Lots of children, Wi-Fi barely worked at our site. So used our Air Card and that worked fine. We selected this location because of the WI-Fi and it proximity to the train station at Newburyport for travel to Boston and Salem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was by far the worst campground we stayed at this year. Pool does not open till 1pm. NO activities for kids or families. You are on your own. Quiet campground...does not sell out or even come close to that because of the lack of anything. Bath house is clean. Showers clean. Campground tried to charge my family, 4 members, to come in to check if I was there that weekend. Wouldn't even let them in to check. Campground has a Warden who harasses those staying. Stay away. Check the State Park at Salisbury instead. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground needs new management. They are rude and not at all helpful. We arrived to find our fire pit full of garbage. We camped next to our son. His electric did not work properly and the campgrounds answer to fix was to call the power company. The sights were nice but sure needed grooming. The pools were small and was full of leaves. Don't think I would go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has potential with right managers. There is nothing to do in the park. No rec or activity schedule and while I was there the majority of the time it rained. Seems to be mostly seasonal people. Pools are very small, deceiving from their website. They are also only open 1-7pm which is unacceptable. I could understand if they had a lifeguard but this is not the case. Also no camp store so everytime you need something you have to leave. The laundry facility is in a trailer and the showers you have to pay for. Also no urinals in the mens bathroom. Sites are spacious but all covered in large wood chips. Even with a mat over them they poke you in the foot. No garbage pickup that I was aware of, but the dumpster area only had one over filled dumpster. Not a bad campground just to park your rig at, but I don't think I would ever go back We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place to park. Pool is only open for six hours. (1p-7p) This is unacceptable. Not much to do unless you leave the park. Area beaches very nice. Close to Kittery, ME. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here three years in a row and each time we ask ourselves why we keep coming back. The staff is so rude and uncaring and not very helpful at all. The old guy driving in a golf kart was continuously yelling at the little kids, when confronted by an adult he would step off. The pool is only open from 1-7 and when we returned from the beach and wanted to keep swiming we could not even though it was 90 degrees outside. The advertised shuttle to the beach takes an hour even though the beach is a 10 min. drive. There is no camp store on site and have to leave to get anything. The game room is old and out dated and needs a serious upgrade. Showers should be free 0.50 $ for 5 mins. unacceptable! If not for its close location to the beaches and other attractions we would never camp there AGAIN!!!!!! NEVER!!!! It's not the campsite that is bad I believe that it is the management. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Small sites in the sun. Two unclean small pools. Hours open 1-7 even though weather was over 90 degrees all day. No urinals in men's room-unsanitary. Rude uncaring employees. No quiet hour. No supervision of the playground or equipment. Playground in direct sun. Constant traffic on large gravel and sand roads. No recycling. Garbage picked up at 4 AM, loud trucks. I-95 nearby. No free shuttle to beach as described in brochure. Area is very nice, Hampton Beach is great, just don't plan to spend much time at the campground or don't plan to sleep. We visited Black Bear Campground in Salisbury, Ma. July of 2005. The Campground was very clean. The lots were spacious and level. The whole campground looks very modern, and well kept. A large playground for our children to play. Two pools and a nice reck hall. We really enjoyed our stay and would return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I have been at this campground several times over the past five years. I have noticed some negetive reports on this site that do not match this campground. There is a Blackbear Campground in NY so I think some people may have them confused. This campground in Salisbury, Ma. does not have a junk yard and is not near New York City. It has nearly 200 sites not 145. I find this campground very inviting and close to the ocean. They have lots of trees for shade, great new play area for the kids and every thing is always nice and clean. When making your reviews please make sure you are in the right State, Thank You. This campground is fairly new but has not been maintained. Bathrooms are dirty and look like they have been there for many, many years. Campsites are not level and there is minimal privacy between sites. Will not stay again.. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Could be a nice campground. Seems run down. Lots of repairs needed. Seems to have a lot of seedy characters as permanent guests in sites and cabins. Reminiscent of Deliverance. Stayed over July 4th long weekend Thursday - Sunday. Campground was full actually overfull. We had premium pull thru site since that was all that was left. OK with us in our Class B. Neighbor only had pop up and small tent. Seemed like nice family with 2 young kids. By next night they had large group of rowdy drunks and lots of obnoxious rude kids that encroached on our site. When we got up they had all pitched tents on our site since their site was overflowing. Went to owners to protest. Another neighbor on other side also had trespassers. Complaint fell on deaf ears. In my opinion they got their money and could care less about us. They did drive by in their golf cart but did nothing about the group. We were outta there early Sunday morning and made lots of noise packing up our stuff. Tempted to drive straight out, but didn't want to commit homocide. Had to back out of a pull thru. My advice never stay there unless really desparate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Could be a nice park, but junky, and full of permanents. The NY City Tour, however, is fantastic and well worth the money. Be sure to ask for a tour driver by the name of Al. He is the best! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Getting up the hill to top of this campground is tight if you have a big rig, and tree limbs and branches do a number on your rig. When you get to the spaces, you are immediately turned off by the large number of "permanent" sites, occupied by units that are rusty, dilapidated, taped or glued together, and the number of junk cars sitting around. One guy tried to sell me a used truck, and I saw others changing oil, working on vehicles, etc., in empty RV spaces. Old junk wires, pipes, cables, etc., are lying around everywhere. It could be a nice campground but, as it is, if you have an option of staying here or in a junkyard, pick the junkyard. You'll be happier. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped for the summer for three years now. We have been vary happy as the campground is clean and friendly. There is a laundry mat, family room with tv in case you are tenting!! Gameroom with pool table and games, two pools and great play area for the kids. Horseshoes, basketball and volleyball. We are impressed with the cleanness over all. Would recommend this campground to everyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This could be a decent campground if they had better electricity. It was 90 degrees when we were there. We paid extra for 50 amp service. The voltage was so low we couldnt use the A/C. Roads were gravel. Sites were gravel and mostly level. There were a lot of trees, but a big rig should not have too much trouble getting around. There were quite a few seasonal/permanent residents. We would not stay there again because of the bad electricity. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were planning to rent a spot for the season. We were told we could pick a spot from the 3 or 4 they still had available. We picked our spot, went back to the office and told them which one we wanted. Staff was very friendly at this point. They explained we needed to pay a months rent plus security deposit all in cash.. We asked them if they could hold the site until the next day and we would return with the cash--even offered to give them a deposit to hold the particular site we wanted, they said they would hold the site no problem. Returned the next day and while filling out the paperwork noticed that the site was not the same one we picked...in fact the site they were giving us was located next to the bathroom! Sure didn't want to spend the season next to the bath house. When we complained they told us that was all they had and we could take it or leave it. We left it. Would not have stayed there if they were giving away sites! Drove a few miles up the road to New Hampshire and found a lovely cg with very nice office staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Overall this cg is decent, but when we went to the office to report a problem of low voltage (104 volts) we were told that this was not uncommon because there are a lot of "brown outs" etc. in the area. The sites on either side of us tested their electric and advised they had 120 volts (ok). Advised the office and they promised to send someone to check it out. That never happened. We also found sites in the area that we were extremely small. We camped here in a camper.

There were new pull thru sites which handled 36' 5th with p/u though not all the sites would be large enough. Some of the interior roads were tight turns due to trees. They had just put in a lot of wood chips so everything looked nice and fresh. The office staff, however...There were site prices posted on the door and on the windows of the office. When we registered, they tried to charge more. When we pointed out the signage, they said those were out of date - too bad. I told them that they were their signs, not ours and that they should honor them. They told me they didn't need me as their guest. It was the end of a long day so we decided to stay. Then they insisted on cash stating that they wouldn't chance a "stop payment" on a charge. Mass. and the RV industry would be better off if this place became a factory site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stay here quite often and have taken advantage of the State Boat Ramp on site. Use is included in your camping fee and there is an excellent ramp/float setup that makes launching and retrieving even the biggest boat an easy task. Parking at the ramp is tight but we have always taken the trailer back to the campsite. Dogs are allowed on a leash on the riverside beach but not the ocean. The seals early in the season are fun to watch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice, quiet campground. Granted, we camped here in the off season and it wasn't full. The streets were quite narrow and if the campground had been full it might have been difficult to maneuver. My kids loved riding their bikes, walking the beach, seeing the seals out on the rocks and playing at the very nice playground. I think my only disappointment was the fact that they had two stations for dumping. Even on the off-season there were very long lines, we gave up after two hours and drove home with full tanks. That might be the one thing that keeps us from going back. With 481 sites and none have septic, they need to add more dumping stations. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great location for a campground - spacious sites on basically open ground with paved streets and pads. Plenty large for even the largest RV with slides. Streets are a bit narrow but careful driving will pay off. Staff was helpful. HOWEVER, we did have a major problem which some of you may encounter. Our motorhome could not stay connected to the electric due to the GFIs tripping. It is unusual that campgrounds have a GFI on the pedestal. We tried to connect to 3 separate pedestals without success as a consequence we did not have electric service. There was nothing obviously wrong with the pedestals or our rig, just some unexplained incompatibility. We have never encountered this before. A trip to the office for a refund (which was granted) and there were knowing remarks about some RVs not being compatible with the electrical in this park. Bottom line, if you can connect, this is a great place to camp. We left after our first night and connected at another campground without a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground for the beach or fishing. One small disappointment was that we were expecting to be able to boogie board at the beach but life guards wouldn't allow it. We had to walk about five minutes to get off the state beach property to go boogie boarding. Found staff friendly and seemed to be experienced. There was not much going on in the Salisbury area as for things to do, but it was a short drive to NH and ME attractions. It was very pet friendly with lots of dog stations through out the campground. Campground store was decently stocked, but everything in the store was way over priced. I had checked off that the bathrooms and showers were clean, but to be honest I've seen better. Also had our cooler stolen the first night we were there, which I found later. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park, although quite large. We called one day ahead, and there were plenty of spaces since it's not summer season yet. The ReserveAmerica booking fee is $9.75, and there is no other way to make reservations! Friendly and helpful girl at check in gave us a choice, oceanview site. Verizon cell and aircard work at full signal. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice Campground. Nice level site. Size is good, Liked being close to the river front. It was our first time here and we arrived after dark. Had a bit of a problem finding the turn into the campsite. We like the campground, we like the price $22 per night. We think the Reserve America fee of $9.25, 42% is exorbitant. This is a good low cost campground for visitors to Massachusetts to stay to see the local area and sights. The only problem is that all 481 sites are reservable. On local festival or vacation weekends, out of state visitors are at a disavantage if showing up with out reservations. We lucked out and got a tent site to situate our 31 ft 5th Wheel on. With a little judicious maneuvering, we managed to park the RV and truck on the site. The 30 amp service worked great and didn't drop any voltage while the air conditioner was running. The water connections were very crappy looking and the water was salty. We used the water in our on-board fresh water tank during our stay. We had to leave 1 day earlier than planned, due to not having reservations. Very crowded park even on the weekend after Labor Day. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have been coming here for almost 30 years. It has turned around in the last 10 years. We enjoy the beach,the sunshine and NO mosquitoes. Often called parking lot camping, as your neighbor is close. People are always friendly and willing to help. Dry park - Alcohol prohibited, which helps keeps the rowdy kids out. The bathrooms and showers need to be updated. But all-in-all, we go 2-3 times a year. Nice place to relax and watch the water and boats in the mouth of the river. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The best part of this campground was the location. We had our dog with us. Dogs are allowed on the "fishing" beach. The worst part about this campground, is the bathrooms. I actually told my daughter to hold off on a shower until be returned home! It was only a 3 night stay. Store prices are high! The campground is policed by the Massachusetts State Police, which we found to be very friendly. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This park was pretty clean. Easy to get around (grid park). No sewer but dump station on site. No cable, no Internet. Sites are right on private beach bordering ocean belonging to park. Sites are a bit tight but you can fit camper w/2 vehicles easy. Pets allowed. No limitation on visitors. 7$ a carload of visitors. Store on site but rather costly. No activities. Boat launch in park. State police patrol park in car and on horse back often. Very quiet park. Fire pits on sites. Very good deal for the money. Can't beat this one. We were satisfied and will definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Considering that the main attraction of this park is the beach and boat launch, the campground is quite nice and is much nicer than several of the local private campgrounds. It is near to both Salisbury and Seabrook, NH which have ample restaurants, stores etc. We were there a few days before Labor Day weekend and again a few days after. Naturally, it was more crowded before the weekend, but we were able to get a site without a reservation and could have stayed the entire holiday weekend if we wanted to. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We noticed a park ranger (or possibly a State Trooper) on horseback, patrolling the campground one morning. The sites are flat and generally open with little shade but they are level and well laid out so you don't feel like you are on top of your neighbors. The campground is kept very clean. We didn't use the showers or restrooms, so we can't comment on those. We saw a surprising number of people camping in tents. Many campers had dogs but they were generally well behaved and you didn't hear a lot of barking. There are some 50 amp sites, some 30 amps and some 20 amp. Bring extension cords because the boxes can be quite a distance from the site. Ditto for water - you definitely will need extra long hose. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table and some also had grills. We certainly would go back there again and can recommend it either as a stopover or for a longer stay. This is an ocean park nice beach, good fishing, only have water and electric but easy in easy out. The staff did a very good job of keeping everything clean. Great for kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Location-Location-Location...is everything. This park is huge and located right at the mouth of the Merrimack river and the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Awesome spot. The park itself is in need of some clean-up. Rest rooms are filthy and the grounds are shabby. The work campers can't seem to keep up with the needs of the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I guess it’s what to be expected from a beach campground: small sites, very noisy, no trees. You are “cheek and jowl” with your neighbors, small level asphalt pads for your trailer or vehicle if you are tenting. The bathhouses are nothing special, but seemed to be clean. Luckily when we were there it was cold and rainy. We had a non-electric site and four days without shade would have made the trailer unbearably hot. The cold did seem to put a damper on the rap-music-playing car-top-dancing folks across the street from us and quelled the sand fleas that have infested the campground. The campground has no view of the beach, or any direct access to the beach. A short drive does get you to the beach, which was very nice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first stay on a crowded weekend (Memorial Day). We were very pleasantly surprised at how quiet things were given the campground was pretty full. The store was decently stocked and open long hours. Bathrooms were fairly clean though the showers are a little dingy. A big plus was each evening, a couple of state police would ride through on horses, making their presence known. A negative is that there are only two dump stations - making for long lines at the end of a busy weekend. Just as an FYI - they are upgrading the campground to have electric at all sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We admittedly stayed here after the season was over and there were only 20 or so campers in the whole park. Access to the ocean is a short (5 minute) walk away. There is also access to two rivers, including the Merrimack. Restrooms were well-kept. Price is reasonable. Very nice state campground on the ocean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Not bad and for the price!!! Just wish they had sewerage and it would be much better. The sites are large and level. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped there for the first time this past week and really loved it. Will be going back there as much as possible. Great ocean only a few minutes walk and very friendly people who camp there too. Excellent State Park, although there are no "Ocean Side" sites, they are a quick 5 minute walk away. The site is nestled between the Ocean and a river. There is boat access, excellent fishing off the river and the ocean is quite nice and a quick walk away. Since it is a state park there are interpretive programs for adults and children to tak part in. A nice pavilion for picnic lunches just off the beach. Rest rooms at the beach are nice and there is a small snack shack at each parking area (there are 3 parking areas- due to the fact that it is open to the public who are not camping as well).
