It is on the backside of Great Bay on the Squamscott River (a tidal river). The biggest negative on the campground is finding the entrance sign. it is small and across a Shell station from the actual entrance. Entrance roads are dirt. Campground roads are packed gravel. They have a dock on the river and a boat launch site. I saw canoes for rent. Sites were fairly level and shaded. It is handy to Portsmouth, the New Hampshire coast and other sites in eastern New Hampshire. I would return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
