We camped here from June 12-18th. Unfortunately it must have rained a lot prior to our arrival. We were in site 759 I believe, and it was terribly muddy. Everytime we pulled into our site it created deep ruts. Bathrooms were clean (as clean as they could be considering it was wet and muddy). Playground is nice. The roads to the sites in the tent area are very narrow as well as the entrances getting into the sites. We saw someone hit one of the fences when they were pulling out because it is tight quarters. The staff was friendly. The other downfall was you could not pick your site. There were definitely nicer sites in the campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The mosquitoes were swarming. The management placed our 34' hybrid trailer on a spot that would be tight for a tent and then argued with us about moving. I don't think we will ever return to this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Main "good" features about this campground are its location (close to Wildwood and to Cape May) and the environment. Almost all sites are shaded. However, the roads are narrow and some of the sites are almost impossible to get into. (I watched one group take out a fence to be able to swing a trailer into a site - trailer about 26 feet with crew cab pickup/short bed.) Sites do have convenient hookups and all have concrete pads next to the sand/gravel parking area. Some of the wooden picnic tables looked a little tired. A ton of seasonal campers here, mostly with park model setups. That means golf carts flying eveywhere around this rather large campground. Enforcement of rules seemed selective. Cars were stopped for going wrong way on one-way drives, but golf carts zoomed effortlessly. I'd give this place ahigher rating if: 1) It wasn't so high-priced, 2) some of the sites were reconfigured for easier access, and 3) the staff was more friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Family style campground, starting to get a little dated. If you have a large rig, make sure you let them know. This campground was designed a long time a go, so the access roads and sites are tight. All the nice things to do in the area make this campground a nice vacation. Don't forget to take a sunset cruise on the whale dolphin watcher boat, beautiful sunsets off the cape of new jersey. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice clean campground. Convenient to Wildwood and Cape May. We felt campsites and roads were very cramped. Campground was crowded. Children and golf carts everywhere. Not a placed to spend a relaxing vacation. Staff was not very helpful. We were to camp with another family from Florida. Unfortunately, they could not join us because of an unplanned medical crisis. They were not treated very well when they called to cancel their reservation. We think we will try another campground next time, since there are many in that area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
While overall this campground is very nice and well maintained, their management leaves a little to be desired. The campground staff seems to enforce only the rules it feels like and only to certain campers. We camped here with several other people, and even though all of our guest did register and pay the guest fees, the staff there made us feel like we where trying to cheat them out of something. Most of the campers are seasonals, and those we met where very nice, however a couple of them thought they were security, and felt the need to voice their opinions to you as you drove by. I gave this campground a 6 because it is really clean and they work hard at keeping it that way. Also they have a lot of activities for the kids. The downside of that is that the staff is just plain ignorant and not helpful at all. With so many other campground in the area I probably wont be back We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We decided to adhere to campground regulations by timing our arrival for 2:30 on Sunday, since no registrations are permitted before 2:00 pm (and being warned that there is no "staging area") The waiting time was about 30 minutes. (Surprisingly, we did notice several exceptions to the 2:00 pm arrival the very next day.) Our “ultra” category campsite (#518) was located on the back perimeter and turned out to be relatively secluded, shady and quiet. Compared with four other nearby campgrounds that we subsequently visited, this one is clearly our #1 choice for future visits. The only major objection were the mosquitoes The vast majority of rigs were owned by seasonal campers were concentrated in the center of the campground, in an area near the park entrance. Obscured from view were the tent campers and across the road the garbage dumpster (also unobtrusive). Special week long activities included a Waikiki beach party, pig roast, Hawaiian Luau, and a talent show. Full hookups plus basic cable TV and a cement patio slab were worth the extra cost to us. Wi-Fi was also available but at an added cost. In season reservations are strongly advised. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff check in was not rude, but not very helpful either. When we called and made our reservations the girl that took them didn't seem like she knew anything. The sites were very tight, and difficult to maneuver our travel trailer into. There were a ton of mosquitoes. Everything else was very nice though. Pool, beach, lake, boats, fishing, concessions, all very nice. Bathrooms were very clean. Many, many more seasonal sites than weekly or daily. July and August require 1 week rentals which is a bit long for my family in one place. Campground is close to Wildwood boardwalk and Cape May Beaches (10 minutes or so to each). Campground is very close to the Cape May Airport, but it didn't seem to be much of a distraction or annoyance. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This place was very poor. They hyped what is actually just a tin city trailer park marketed as a 'resort'. I put up with the crowding, low voltage electricity, golf carts selling firewood. Though why one would want to have an open fire that close together is beyond me. But the thing that really got me is: They charge quarters to take a shower. And the timers do not work! Who are they kidding?? I won't be back !! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were very concerned about the access to the sites after reading all the reviews. We have a 32ft motor home and had no problem at all. Yes, you do have to be careful because it is harder than normal with the fencing, trees, light posts, etc. but it was not that difficult. The sites themselves were nice. We took an ultra site which had the above plus a concrete pad, cable, and a good amount of space between sites(grass). The roads were rock but there was no dust created by them. We received a map at check-in and were surprised to see that the majority of the park was park model trailers. I'm not a big fan of campgrounds with these in them, but I did not realize that when I made our reservations. I was pleasantly surprised !! Most of them were no more than a couple of years old and were as big as some peoples houses. We did not see one eyesore unless you consider the one or two "gaudy" ones as eyesores. They were all extremely well kept and a lot of them had beautiful landscaping. The lake, with the beach area, was very nice. It had a snack bar, boat/kayak rentals, a dock in the middle for kids to go on, a playground, basketball, one of the three pools, picnic area, etc. It seemed to be very kid oriented, although we don't have kids. The park itself is huge so they offer golf cart rentals, and believe me there were a ton of golf carts! We had a space near the restrooms, which had a large grass area, where a lot of families would gather and play ball, etc. The restrooms were clean, but we did not use the showers since we have our own. The park itself is very well maintained and seems to have a large maintenance staff. We did have some issues though. We tow a jeep and had no where to unhitch because there are only a few spaces to park to check-in and since other people are waiting you can not do it there. We ended up pulling over on the side of our road to do it but if another rig came down the road, we were in trouble. To hitch up, we did it at a nearby gas station. One major problem I could see is that only one lane exists for entering and exiting the campground. During the busy times, in the summer, they offer express check-in at the security station. So if you want to either exit or enter the campground, you need to wait in that same line. We were fortunate that we left Saturday morning and did not have an issue with the lane problem. Both times I dealt with the staff, the girl was extremely rude and said only what she needed to. These things to me are worth putting up with, since the campground was very nice and is very convenient to both Cape May and Wildwood (it's about 4 miles to either one). We just got home 2 days ago and I can't wait to go again!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice park but we will not be back. It is very well kept with fair size wooded sites. Most of the park is set up as permanent or seasonal sites. We had an Ultra site which is supposed to handle big rigs. We and two of our friends were there, all in 35 ft fifth wheels. We all had a difficult time getting into our sites. We spent the weekend watching other big rigs having difficulty maneuvering into their sites. First there are cute little split rail fences which are too close to the narrow road and to the site entrance when you are trying to swing your larger RV into the site. Our pickup was an inch from the fence across the street when my husband was swinging the 5th wheel around to avoid the fences that lined our site. The fences are nice but are in the way when you have to back in with a longer RV. It is the same with the lamp post - cute but in the way. Leaving was another story. The streets are narrow and one way. We had a difficult time getting around some corners because of the fences. There are a lot of low hanging branches that rubbed the roof and sides of the RV. Our friends had a particularly problem getting by on their street because several golf carts were parked in the street at the permanent residences. It took a bit of time finding someone to move the golf carts. It is a very nice park if you have anything under about 25 ft. or if you rent one of their may cabins. They have a beautiful well kept beach on a lovely lake. There is also a second very nice smaller lake for fishing only. There are several small pet areas at one end of the park but getting there is not the best. The narrow streets and active traffic are not really conducive to walking your dogs to the pet areas. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice place. Was in site across from entrance & office/store. Wouldn't be bad in a hard side, but too much traffic for a pop up (too much noise). Get the upgraded sites further back for a pop up-quieter. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is another park that has the potential to be a perfect 10 with just some attention to minor detail. First off this is not a "Big Rig" friendly place. Too many little trees in the way that provide no benefit to the sites. Every big rig over 25' had difficulty backing into site. They should cut down these nuisance trees and move the post and rail fencing back about 2 feet on each side of the road to allow the necessary room to access the site. The site itself is nice as they are spacious and the concrete pad is a huge plus. The lights along the road are a nice touch. The bath house could use a bit more attention as they were not really clean...but were not disgusting either. The laundry room was small, only six washers and dryers and very hot inside. The main pool was nice, but alot of sand in it. This could be eliminated by sweeping all the sand off the sidewalks every couple of days and maybe vaccuming it. The entry way is also very congested during mid afternoon during check-in times. I had to wait in traffic for about 10 minutes just to get back into the park. They need to open it up more so that people already in can get back in with some ease rather than waiting on those that are checking in. They have a rather nice pond with a beach that was great for the kids. It provides fishing, kayaking and swimming. Also a very pet friendly park. Overall a decent place. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
On the positive side, the park overall, was good. We stayed on a VIP site, which included a concrete pad and had enough room. However, I do not believe that the park is big rig friendly. Our rig is 31' and there is not adequate room to back in "many" of the VIP sites. There are too many small trees that prevent movement of your RV and Tow Vehicle. Just about every one who pulled in had the same problem. Late travelers spent up to an hour backing in. Quite hours hours are between 11pm and 8am, which is good except when you allow for the late arrivals. On one night a RV pulled in well after midnight, with a large RV and a diesel tow vehicle. Needless to say they took for ever to get parked. I did not like that at all. Cape May area is very nice and somewhat affordable for a family vacation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We come back to this park every year with the Grand kids. Great property, premium sites with 30/50 amp service, concrete pads, lampposts. Wireless internet access available. Great for kids, good fishing and activities. Well maintained and friendly staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our 1st visit was very nice and enjoyable where we planned to revisit w/n a 3 wk period.
Upon obtaining available and reservation, the staff was very rude and quick to get info without reservation for customer inquiry. At time of reservation informed that there was a $2 discount on 2nd day visit and was told to bring in at time of check-in. Made required credit card reservation deposit and at that time was not able to provide confirmation, too busy at that time. Later contacted and was informed that $2 discount could not be used at check-in due to the fact of express check-in was requested, which was not requested on my behalf and that the transaction was completed and could not be removed from express check-in. Representative was very rude and unprofessional by raising voice and interrupting not allowing to voice. Cancelled reservations for 4 days and will not return. Such a nice and pleasant resort, yet rudeness & unprofessionalism makes it all UGLY. LET'S GO ELSEWHERE. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We wanted to go to Beachcomber for our shake down cruise on our new Motor Home. We were very disappointed as the sites were very small with no room between sites and the roads were also very narrow. The majority of the campground (approx. 81%) are seasonals and the remaining 19% is all that is available for transient campers. The folks in the office were a bit brisk and seemed to be doing you a favor to help you. We will not be going back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The facilities at this campground are nice as descibed other people that have commented. But
the staff in the office are rude. The site they assigned to me was not available when I arrived so they told me to take another site. Later that day I told the office my site number and the man at the office said I must move. He also said, "if you do not comply you will be towed". The next day the daughter of the owner fixed the problem and we did not need to move, but never did anyone say "sorry". The roads in the seasonal area are covered with stone but in the non seasonal area the roads are crushed sea shells. Any time a vehicle travels down past your site expect a large cloud of dust from the road. Everything gets covered with this chalk type dust outside and inside your RV. What a mess....an this was during the off season in September so I can just imagine what it would be like in the summer. The staff drive the golf carts very fast and they too never bother to give you a smile or a wave. The people camping next to us and behind us also commented about the rude staff. This place deserves to be a 9 or 10 but the rude staff and terrible dusty roads prevent me from giving anything higher than a 6. We camped here in a Motorhome.

On deluxe sites you get a huge concrete slab, which was nice. There is an airport nearby and the kids enjoy seeing many airplanes which fly in, although the noise is not that loud. The only real negative we had was the mosquitos, which probably came out after a week of rain. Very close to the Wildwood boardwalk, and numerous waterparks and amusement rides. Cape May County has an awesome (and free) zoo nearby. The park has 3 pools and clean lake for swimming. Large play ground for kids. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Large clean campground, centrally located to both Wildwood and Cape May. Spring rate was low compared to summer rate, which is about $50 per weekend night. Well kept campground, with alot of activities for the kids. Only about 1 mile off the Garden State Parkway which makes it very convenient. Would highly recommend. As above poster mentioned alot of seasonal sites however with the campground so large there appears to be available transient camping. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with a lot of things for all to enjoy. Swimming pools, a fresh water lake to swim in, and the ocean close by (15 min.). The only problem is that the campground is slowly becomming permanent, although the units and the landscaping around them are well done and tasteful. Hope there will always be room for transient campers!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Probably the best campground we've ever stayed at! A bit more expensive than your average campground but well worth it! Many activities for the kids. High time is definitely in the summer, but it is a April through October resort with cheaper rates in the pre/post-season. We camped here in a camper.
We were very disappointed. Upon arriving noticed the staff was a tad "moody" and it didn't improve during our 2 week stay. Poison ivy was all over our site though we were told it was the most desirable site in the campground. The camp store was nothing but bare shelves and requesting change or pretty much any service was frowned upon. Few activities for the kids. The pool was okay. They seemed to cater to more seasonal residents. When we drove through the grounds to get to our site it never failed that kids and adults alike would yell for us to slow down even though we were doing the 5 mile per hour limit. Very disappointed in the lack of freindliness and customer service. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
I've checked out MANY if not most Cape May campgrounds and this one is by far, my favorite. It is true what the previous poster said about a lot of seasonals and I've been yelled at by a cranky old woman in a seasonal for going 5mph, but this is still a great campground for the following reasons. Normally, I don't like the seasonal type places but that's because usually the seasonals seem run down and more like a homeless shelter but this one has beautiful newer mobile homes for the seasonals that I guess you buy or rent there. So it's a big step up from the run-down "lake lurie" seasonal homeless shelter up the road a 1/2 mile. The second reason I like it is the FRIENDLY seasonal families we've met there. Decent people with kids and they use this place as their SUMMER homes NOT their only 'home' they own. Third, they DO have great summer activities for the kids -- the director is a seasonal mom that stays with her family here all summer. We went for "Christmas in July weekend" and the kids made Christmas decoration crafts, played games, went on a hay ride, got a present from SANTA himself! We couldn't ask for a better time! The seasonal activities, being run by a mom that lives there, seem to be way better and more involved than most campgrounds that have a park employee doing the minimal possible activities. Fourth, the entire campground is immacculate and most sites are wooded and fairly private -- maybe slightly small but the abundance of trees and privacy make up for the slightly tight squeeze on some lots. The sites are a lot more private and nicer than those at Holly Shores down the road and, as small as they are, they are still bigger than those at Holly Shores. Fifth, the bathrooms are the cleanest you'll find outside of Fort Wilderness. Okay, they are closed for cleaning sometimes at inconvenient hours, but at least they are cleaned several times a day. Sixth, this campground is just a couple miles to downtown Cape May and the beach. Not a bad ride at all unlike some campgrounds that are 15-plus miles from Cape May but still bill themselves as a "Cape May Campground" like Big Timber Lake. Seventh, the game room, ice cream/snack shop, and gift shop were all clean, fun, and reasonably priced and I found all the employees friendly. Ninth, even when it's full, the winding roads and open spaces never make it seem crowded. One downside to it was the pool seemed to smell and the water was a little 'slimy' -- the kids had fun, it seemed clean but something was wrong with the water when we were there I think. Maybe not enough chlorine? I don't know. Despite that, this is still the only place in Cape May that I will even CONSIDER camping at. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
After reading the previous review with all 10's we were less than pleased upon our arrival to this old and small cramped RV/Trailer Park. However with that all said the park is well maintained and clean for its age and size. We were assigned a super site $52 with a concert pad, however the pad was just big enough for the picnic table the remainder of the site was dirt and gravel for the rig to be parked on. It had rained the day before and all the sites were muddy leaving large ruts when we pulled in to our site along with several others that came in at the same time, however a simply fix is to walk your site in advance of accepting the assigned site simply because of the wet conditions. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Holly Shores Campground is a top notch camping resort. The camp store was well stocked and up to date. The staff was very friendly and helpful to us. This was our first time camping and they made us feel comfortable and welcome. They guided us into our spot and gave us tips and hints throughout our stay. The grounds are well kept and the sites are shaded well. They are also very pet friendly and have a fenced dog walk in the back of the campground. The best part is they are a short drive to Cape May and Wildwood Beaches. We loved it so much were going back next weekend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Terrible! Don't waste your money! Just got back from a week at this place. The minute I checked in I didn't like it. The main reason....the female owner, Maggie. Very rude, not only to her customers but to her employees. Belittled them in front of me and friends my family was camping with. I was embarrassed for them. Our reservations were made 5 months ahead of time and when our friends and us checked in with 40 and 42 foot RVs, the sites were not big enough. A nice employee was helping us, but was having trouble moving us. Maggie took over and after running her rude mouth said we were "lucky" to get sites across from each other...imagine that? She banned the younger kids from the store/office because my 10 year old and 2 other young girls went to the store to buy ice. There is a bell on the counter to ring for service. Now, Maggie is not the only one in the store and she was speaking with someone while other employees were walking around. My daughter rang the bell, nobody came so she rang it again. "Boss lady" yelled at my daughter "don't you see me talking to someone? I'll be with you when I'm done!" Well, let me tell you, my daughter certainly wasn't waiting for her to wait on her, but the others that were doing nothing didn't help her either. To a 10 year old you ring the bell until someone comes to help you. I went to speak with Maggie and she, of course, denied being rude to the kids. I told her I didn't believe her as I'd seen her in action the day we checked in. Quiet time in this campground is 11pm. Our kids were at the playground and one night at 10:10pm she yelled at them that they were too loud and had to go back to their campsites. What's up with that? Also, if you've ever camped here, you will notice that the wagon they use for the hayride is the same one they use to collect trash. Yuck!!! So here's the real kicker....today while packing up to leave, my daughter and husband filled out the survey that is left the night before at your site. As you can imagine, it was not very positive. My daughter brought it to the office and my dog followed her unleashed. Yes, I realize he needed to be leashed, my fault no question. Well, because the survey was not very nice, "boss" has a male drive her to my site in her little golf cart yelling and screaming about my dog being unleashed (with survey in hand). Very unprofessional....now realize, my dog is now in my camper and has been. A camper in the site next to me told me himself that he had told her that the dog was already back at the site. She told me she was calling the police because my dog was unleashed. Do you believe it! Well 2 police officers came AND the animal control officer. This woman is nuts! What a waste of their time. She basically called them because she was not happy with what we had to say about HER!!! It's all true. If you search this campground, you will find many negative reviews about it and many where this woman has threatened to call the police. I will say that the police were very nice to us and we asked them to stay until we finished packing up and to go into the office as to get our $10 deposit for the gate key without aggravation. Of course, she had something to say, but in the end I'm sure she wasn't happy when the police officer shook my husband's hand! Do not go to this campground! Also, haven’t been to Beachcomber Campground, but it is the sister campground to this one. I won’t be going there either. Seashore Campground is a few miles away. Been there before and will be camping there next year! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a very nice campground. About 50/50 seasonal and transient, but the seasonal sites were mostly near the back of the campground. Sites were plenty wide and long, and ours was plenty shady, too. Some sites had little to no shade. Backing in was easy even for this novice. Bath/shower houses seem to have been refurbished recently and were clean and well maintained. My complaints with this place are really minor. Water, electric and cable hookups are at the back of the site, so make sure that you have extra lengths of hose/coaxial cable/electric. Wi-Fi signal is strong, but it is not free. In fact, it is rather expensive at $4.50/day. I chose not to use it. There are an awful lot of golf carts running around the campground, but they were fairly consistent in obeying the 5MPH speed limit. There seemed to be plenty of family oriented activities on the weekend. I have no first hand experience of these as we used the time we were there to go to the Wildwood boardwalk and just relax in our camper. Actually, if they had a place to fish I'd call this campground perfect. We'd go back for sure. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The campground is clean, and the value is fair for the amenities. The staff does drive around very frequently, and they do seem a bit "strict" on rule enforcement, however, I feel that this creates a nicer environment. It is a family campground, and I would definitely return there for future vacations. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I stayed at Holly Shores for a seasonal site, and would not go back as a seasonal customer but would go back on a nightly basis. They enforce the rules too much for my liking, and tend to invade your privacy a bit by riding around every half an hour at night. The campground was clean and the atmosphere was very friendly. The staff needs some work on customer service at times, but we all have our days. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed on a premium site with a cement pad. Nice playground. Nice pool (not open), game room (not open). Key card system at front gate checkpoint. Overall a clean campground with friendly staff. Nothing special. We may stay here again this year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed at Holly Shores for 1 week from June 1-8 2006. Nice campground and close to all attractions in Cape May and close to Atlantic City and other great beaches. Some lots are tight to enter and exit with large rigs. Wooded lots with sand and cement pads. No pads for parking on. Wi-Fi charge. Small/clean pool. Childrens activities. Security gates. Charge for entrance Key, refundable. Pet Friendly (no barking dogs allowed). Friendly staff. Recommended campground for visit to area or return trips. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, staff very helpful. Go for the upgraded sites, they have concrete pads, very nice! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The sites are very narrow & short. We stayed here over Columbus Weekend & it rained all 4 days. Fortunately, our site was sand w/ a cement pad which really helped. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Had to use the showers because our water heater broke. I'm not sure if the bathrooms were a bit dirty because of all the rain & moisture - so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They could use some upgrading though. The breakfast included in the wknd stay was good. Most activities for the wknd had to be cancelled due to the rain. CG is in good location to Cape May & other beaches. Wish they had a shuttle to these places so that one doesn't have to deal with the parking. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
CAMPERS BEWARE. Sites are small, activities are limited, pool is small, internet access was poor, and most importantly the camper is responsible for demonstrating that you paid a deposit before you can get a refund for your gate key. We paid for 2 keys, provided the two receipts we received. In turn we were told that the computer showed no record of a second deposit so we could not get our money back even though we had both keys and provided both receipts. So campers beware you are accountable for the clerk entering your paid cash deposit and getting a receipt that demonstrates it. We thought we did that but were told that our receipt was just a copy not a receipt for the second deposit we paid. How were we to know this in advance? We camped here in a Motorhome.

My family and dog has been to Holly Shores multiple times during 2004 and 2003. We plan to return in 2005. The season last from 4/15 to 10/31. The y are the friendliest people we have met camping. They are most helpful and accomodating. I was new to camping (RVing) in 2003 and they never hesitated to stop and help me do or learn something about my RV. The facilities are excellent. They improve on the entire campground from year to year. It is close to Wildwood for my teenager and her friends. And it close to Cape May for my wife and I. In fact it's about equidisdant at 4 miles and 5-10 minutes.

Most sites are dirt and when it rains its a mud hole We camped here in a camper.
Went on a $150 all day Friday-Sunday special so we wouldn't have to worry about 11am checkout on Sunday. Original site was flooded and swampy, guide told us to pick another where we did set up completely and woke to a knock on the door the following morning that we had to move. Given choice of sites to move to, drove around to look at the sites and all are basically tent sized sites w/ the exception of a few. Sewer sites are occupied by seasonals so don't even bother calling for a full hook-up site. Pool and lake areas were nice although my 7 year old who is an excellent swimmer had to wear a huge life jacket to go in the lake which made swimming completely unenjoyable for him. Bring bug spray. We decided to camp here despite the past reviews since it was cheap and we knew we would be in Wildwood for the Beach Blast soccer tournament and on the rides and beach for most of our stay. Very private sites but a chainsaw to open some up would do wonders to give a little more room to the site. If you have a slide-out you will have to choose between your slide out or your awning. Would camp again for the lower rates if we were planning to only be at the campground to eat and sleep. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground is best visited during the off-season. Most Jersey shore campgrounds have ridiculous overcrowding issues during summer months. This campground was OK for our use as we were out of the campground all day and did not use any of their facilities. Location is excellent to all Jersey shore points. We had a pull-thru site that was nicely spaced. The problem I encountered is that the roads are barely wide enough to get my 24ft x 7.5ft wide hybrid trailer around turns. Do not attempt to bring ANYTHING bigger in here unless your staying in the field! We may come back again during the off season time...it does offer location,location.... I booked a two week reservation, and left in less than 2 hours with a full refund. Their idea of full hookups was an electrical extension cord from another site strewn across tree branches to my site. I am not saying every site is like this, but that was what they gave me. I imagine the seasonal folks get the better sites. If not going seasonal, don't bother. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We went to Lake Laurie in July 2007 and were concerned with the low ratings it received in this site and in camp directories. All other campgrounds were booked so we decided to go anyway. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a wooded, level site in the 600 section. We loved the location...mid way between Wildwood and Cape May. The lake was very nice. The only downed was the step on the trampoline was broken and made it very difficult to get up. The pool was nice and the water fresh. The camp store had a good selection and the snack bar had a decent variety. We spoke to a woman who had an annual site there and she explained that the campground was under new ownership this year and she listed all the improvements so far. She was pleased with the new ownership. My only criticisms...the bathrooms could be cleaner and the park looks a bit shabby in the front with some of the campers located there. We will definitely be back...possibly Sept 2007. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Brand new fifth wheel. Went to Lake Laurie on my first trip with my new trailer. When we arrived, we were given a site. We tried to make it to the site, but when we found it, there was no way our 32 foot trailer was going to be able to back into it. Take two: went back to office, given another site, roads - trails really - were barely wide enough for our trailer. Second site: not going to fit. Back to office. Take three: "go look around." After an hour of getting my new trailer scratched on the roof by limbs, went back to the office. I asked them why they told me to take a 13 foot trailer through a campground that had only about 11 feet of clearance. The response: "I knew it wouldn't fit but the other girl was new and I didn't want to correct her." I lost it. No problem getting a full refund of my deposit. Will not return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a nightmare. I tried to make a reservation at several campgrounds in the Cape May area. All were booked solid. I then called Lake Laurie which I found on the internet. I called Lake Laurie to make a reservation on a Wednesday night. I was told that they had "plenty of openings" and that I would have to leave a small deposit. I should have suspected something was wrong based on the fact that it was the only place in the area with openings. My mistake. I left the deposit using my debit card. I was told the cancellation policy was that if the reservation was cancelled 21 days prior to the check in date that I would receive a full refund. Several hours after making the reservation a friend told me about this website. After reading the horrible reviews on rvparkreviews.com we were very sceptical BUT decided to go anyway. The following morning we realized that we had a family commitment during the time we were supposed to stay at Lake Laurie. When I called to cancel I was told that I would have to pay an ADMINISTRATIVE FEE of $50.00. I told the woman what I had been told 12 hours earlier and she said "sorry" that is our policy. I also found out during this conversation that they had not taken a small deposit but the entire amount of my for my proposed stay. What a ripoff. Bad reviews. Bad policy. Improper information provided. Bad campground. BEWARE OF LAKE LAURIE. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This place was the worst. I booked for 15 days but left 2 days early because we couldn't stand it anymore. The main breaker to our section of the campground tripped multiple times in our stay. Even when the power was on, I would have to shut off the A/C to run the toaster or microwave because the voltage dipped so low neither would work. The "modern bathhouses" are falling apart and sewage backed up in them on 2 occasions during our stay. Mosquitoes were a major problem 24/7 and my kids look like they have had an outbreak of chicken pox even though we used deep woods off constantly. Hornets at the lake were a nuisance and the swim platform was covered in gull droppings. Pool is old and bottom is flaking off. The only positive thing we observed was that the employees were pleasant. There is a reason why this campground was not listed in my Woodalls book. Avoid at all costs We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Would not go there again even if it was free. Left two days early because it was so bad no refund had to bite the bullet. Pool was green as green can be my kids could not swim. Bathrooms well the definition of the word clean does not exist, toilet bowls flowing over water everywhere it was just gross I drove down to the WaWa just to go to the bathroom. Sites to close together and you need a 50 foot extension cord just to hook up electric because you have to share it. Store was poorly put together papers on the floor a very big I saw when walking in to check in. Ran out of ice on a holiday weekend and did not refresh till the next day. Just bad bad I have been camping for years and I have never stayed in such a terrible place in my life even when I was a kid. For these accommodations they should have offered refund considering we left for sanitary reasons. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This Place is horrible. It is filthy. The staff is extremely rude, and the swimming pool is green yes that's right I said green like swamp water. The campsites are too close together. Overall it was a bad experience. With so many other campgrounds around this place I suggest you take your family elsewhere. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This has to rank as one of the worst I've EVER been to. It's a shame. Filthy, run down, and old. You see the pictures on the website? Those are from 1970 -- look at the cars and the clothes and you can tell. Then go to the campground and you'll see it hasn't been cleaned or updated since 1970. That "lake" they have there is disgusting. You couldn't pay me enough to swim in that. It looks NOTHING like the picture anymore. Words can't properly convey how bad this place is. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this one! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean, nice pool and lake... close to Cape May. Kids loved it ! Nice service on Sunday morning as well.... Overall a very enjoyable stay for kids and adults We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
While the campground wasn't officially open in March 2009, they keep several sites open year round. It’s only $20 during the pre-season and on the honor system. You just put $20 in an envelope in a box per night. Nothing was open in March, but we didn’t expect anything to be. We were also there in July 2008. The pool is great - especially the kiddie pool area for the small ones. There's a lake with a large slide, a fully and well stocked store, snack bar, game room and mini golf. The seasonals we met were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is many of the seasonal sites look run down and need a good cleaning. That’s the only reason we didn’t give it a 10. We didn’t use the bathrooms other than the ones in the main building. But these were very clean. The staff is all helpful and friendly. It’s a family run campground. We camped here with 2 adults and 2 small children – 3 and 6. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Staff is very nice. Campsites are a little crowded.. No privacy and somewhat noisy in the mornings..pull through sites on Q or Quail are basically a parking lot near the garbage dumpsters, septic pumping, with tractors and trucks going by and noisy all day. No relaxation at all especially with small children or dog.. Golf carts transport garbage at high rates of speed .. Back part of campsite is nice and wooded, lake is like a swimming pool with small beach.. Store is great and owner and staff extremely nice,, it is well maintained.. I would stay here again just not in the Q section... We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground where I was. I had a pull thru right near the pool (Q section) Only complaint was that other campers would cut thru the camp site next door in order to go to the pool. Not campgrounds fault. Pool, store and main building were very nice. Great location to use as base and go to Wildwood, Cape May, etc. Camp sites further deeper into resort were seasonal. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a large campground with many full time sites. This made wandering around interesting. I enjoyed seeing how the full timers decorated their homes. It was very crowded, but the campers were polite and considerate. There are two swimming areas, a lake and a large pool. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We had a seasonal site for years at Seashore when I was a kid. The campground was great then and even better now. The campstore/office is superb. Check-in was a snap. This was a pre-season visit and the guard shack had a sign that simply said "Welcome. Pick a site and come to the office in the morning". We had a reservation and an assigned site that I didn't particularly care for so we moved to another one. We had arrived around 9:30pm so I went to the office in the morning and it was no problem to stay on the sight we picked. One thing that is not different from my childhood is that the "transient" sites are near the front, and kind of close together. If you want a more peaceful camping experience you may want to drive around the park a bit before picking a site. There are some great wooded sites deeper into the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For $20 per night, we got a paved pull-through site with 50 AMP electric, water, sewer, and Cable. It is a nicely kept campground with friendly service. Good Cable and nicely landscaped sites. It is a good base for exploring the area. I would highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a beautiful park. Stayed here over Columbus Day (October 6-10) and the weather was terrific. It was around 90 degrees everyday! The campground was very well maintained. The staff were very accommodating. Our site, I believe it was J 11, a large, roomy pull thru with a blacktop parking pad. The Comcast Cable TV was very good with over 65 channels. This campground is very convenient to Wildwood and Cape May. We stayed here after Holly Shores didn't answer us back, and are very glad. The sites at Holly Shores are not big rig friendly and the overall appearance there isn't as nice. The only campground in the area that can compare to Seashore Campsites is Beachcomber, but there the sites aren't as attractive either. I would highly recommend this campground, although it could feel a little crowded during the summer. Hope to visit this park again in April 2008. Oh, I'm also pretty sure wi-fi is now available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
During this time there was a lot of Senior Citizens in MotorHomes. We had a corner site with RVs so close to the back, and side. After 11:30pm loud drunks on golf carts. Lakes/ponds dried-up. Kids spent most time in arcade. If you like socializing with your neighbor, no problem, if you like some alone time camping not the place to go. Mostly for Motorhomes, blacktop sites, with concrete pad. Not really for woods campers. Other Campers very friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very large RV park with lots of traffic and lots of seasonal sites. We were on the main road in a pull-thru site which was adequate, although not very level or wide. We could not get WiFi at our site. The office staff was not especially friendly - very short and curt. Thee was a lot of noise late into the night. The pool is very nice and there was a movie shown in the evening. It is conveniently located for seeing Cape May. The rate had dropped to $28 due to the time of year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We've been going here for 6 years and enjoy everything about this campground. This is a busy campground geared mostly toward families. A drive through does nothing so reviews such as these are not accurate. My experience is that all the staff are extremely helpful and courteous. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. Thanks to all who stayed there and reviewed this park at rvparkreviews.com. The staff was friendly and courteous. The security was top notch. The bath-houses were a bit dated but clean. There were quite a few bath-houses spaced throughout the park so there never was a wait for showers. The sites were level and clean, some with sand, some with gravel, and some with concrete pads. Most all were shaded. We could have parked 2 campers and a tent on our site. It was also hard to believe how quiet this park was. Security tolerates absolutely no noise during quiet hours. If you are camping with young children, reserve a spot that is not on the main entrance road, (Blue Jay), as it is heavily traveled most of the day. This would be the only down side of this park. There is a lot of truck, tractor, and equipment traffic almost every day. The side roads are great for the kids to ride their bikes with somewhat less traffic. We go to South Jersey every year and Seashore will now be our only choice! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This past weekend was our maiden voyage for the new camper. Most of the campground was seasonal, but there were a some transient spots available. We stayed in an area that was stoned all around with a cement pad and a fire ring for each site. It was tight getting the trailer in, but after a few tries, we made it. The campground had lots to do. The best was the swimming lake. Awesome! The people were friendly, the store was packed with all kinds of wonderful things that were not overly priced, there was so much to do! We will definitely be back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were camping at a nearby campground (Beachcomber)and decided to drive through this one to preview it. Maybe it was the fact that we were just driving through and didn't actually stay here but I have to disagree with most of the reviews. The campground entrance is nice. The office/store building is enormous and seems brand new. We also found a house somewhere in the campground that said it was the grounds keepers house. That house was nice which is kind of ironic since that was all that was so positive. We drove all over hoping to find the "well kept" seasonal area and sites, however we never found any. The sites seemed to have no pattern to them. There would be a site where the park models would be long ways in the space and then the one next to it would would be parked the opposite way almost intersecting it. We saw the exact same motorhome as ours which drew our attention to where it was. It was in a spot next to a park model trailer and the way it was situated, the back side of the motorhome had to be no more than 2 feet from the park model. The slide on the one side was not even extended all the way because there was a tree in the way. Three quarters of the sites appeared to be this way. It seems like they just haphazardly have sites all over!!! Most of the sites were rock but had weeds all over them and the majority of the seasonals were older. We saw very very few that appeared to be LESS than 4-5 years old. The beach/lake (man made) was something I would never even put my feet in, never mind swim in. It was just very unappealing. The security guard at the entrance of this campground said this campground is much nicer than the one we are staying at(Beachcomber). He must get paid extra to say that since he works there because there is no comparison. The other campground has A LOT of park models and we're usually not fond of this in a campground however THEY are very well kept. It's still your typical shore campground, but is much more visually appealing. Maybe the people that have reviewed this campground have different standards than me or maybe they are just a lot older since my husband and I are fairly young. Or maybe it's the fact that the last review is a year old. Who knows? The one reviewer said it perfect-"I'm not doing back flips over this campground!!" We just got back last month from driving our motorhome cross country and we have seen a lot of campgrounds. I apologize if my standards are a little higher but there are other options in this area and they are a lot more appealing. Maybe its the amenities that make this place so "great" in everyone's eyes but if you at least have some pride in where you stay this is definitely not a campground that should be rated higher than a five!!!!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was an excellent place to stay. Very clean and the sites were perfect. Our trailer never hit the dirt. Golf cart rentals made it a plus. I would definitely go back, and the kids loved it too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice place. Family oriented. Even that it's a huge campground it still quiet at night. Rest rooms and shower was very clean in my area. Some karts but not too much. Trash was picked up every day and some time it looked to be two times a day. Lot of people at the pool but it's a huge pool. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is a very nice and clean family campground. And a Good Sam Park. Bathrooms are clean but could be updated. You have to pay for the showers...not sure how long showers last for. They have a good size heated pool and also a big filtered swim lake.(Lake is very clean) The only thing I wished they do is have the pool and lake open for a longer time. They close them both at 7pm. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Seasonals are very nice too and keep their area nice...some eyesores but not much. What I liked most about this campground is that you can rent their golfcarts for $31 a day. Nice to drive around and see where everything is since the place is big. Campground is close to a lot of attractions. We had an excellent time and will camp here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed here after reading postive review after positive review and most of the reviews were accurate. Enjoyed our stay here. Was a nice clean place. I am not doing backflips over this place like most of the reviews have given, but I absolutely enjoyed our weekend stay. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed 5 nights had a great time. We were lucky enough to get a large 50 amp site directly across from the swimming lake. Well maintained campgrounds, nice pool, plenty for the kids to do, friendly staff. Even the majority of the permanent sites were nicely maintained and the residents friendly. Store pretty well equipped, but more importantly they didn't gouge you on the price. Convenient off the highway for a bigger unit. Would definitely go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Were very pleased with the friendly service and ample sites. I scoped this campground out the year before when we were staying at a competitor's campground. I was sold when I went in to the front desk and wasn't scowled at when I asked to have a look around. When I called the following February to make a reservation the gentleman who helped me went over and above to ask questions as to what type of accomodations I was looking for. He suggested the site we then reserved and it was perfect! Vist them and enjoy! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Very nice park located minutes from Cape May and Wilswood. They also give discounts for AAA and Good Sam members. They were very friendly. No hidden costs. Very clean restrooms, pool and lake. It's like camping in the woods with the benefit of the seashore. We will be coming back again this year. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
A very nice, clean, family friendly campground. They have decent sized sites, most all of them shaded. Two pools and a large lake for swimming. Very close to Wildwood boardwalk and the city of Cape May. The restrooms were clean but a little dated and you have to drop quarters for the showers. I also found the WiFi system was really poor. There is an added fee for it and you couldn't get reception unless you were right next to the bath-house antennas. I will be returning next August though. A very nice place overall. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice clean park, very freindly close to all the sites in the area. Sites are very large and clean, cement pad, picnic table included. roads are paved. Park was under some construction near back swimming area but under control and quiet during operations. work going on from Mon thru Fri 8 to 4 only. I would visit and enjoy this park again. We visited in the fall(Sept 03, after main season) Great place and a lot going on in the area and great weather. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best campgrounds we've ever been to. The staff was very friendly and
helpful. The facilities were clean and modern. Enjoyed the filtered swimming lake and pool. Our site had a concrete pad and was paved with a lot of shade. The campground is very convenient to both Cape May beaches and the Wildwood boardwalk. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
