Most of the sites are better for tents than trailers, and are dark due to the density of the woods that they are carved into. We were able to scout out a few nice more open sites (so I could use my Solar panels) and enjoyed our stay. The showers and bathrooms were clean and plentiful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Almost all campsites are crammed into the trees. Only a few sites are large enough to park a 30' RV in and open the slides. Because of dense trees there are lots of bugs. If you want privacy though, this is the place to go. You can't see into most campsites but that means you can only see about 10' from your tent/RV to where the trees are. Also you pay almost $26 a night, plus you have to pay $7.80 per person entrance fee. One of the private RV parks in town are cheaper and offer full hookups & free Wi-Fi. The only reason I could see for staying here is if you want the privacy offered by staying in the dense trees. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 10 days in our 36' fifth wheel. It was a typical KOA campground with their usual high standards. Very beautiful are and they get lots of caravans. Probably should have a reservation. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We selected this park based on the positive reviews on this site so we were surprised and disappointed to find out that the only sites they have that are suitable for a "big rig" are in an area that is nothing more than a gravel parking lot. All the more scenic or private sites are relatively small and have no electric or sewer hook ups. On the positive side the lake is beautiful, there are facilities for kids and the Wi-Fi works well - but you're still in a parking lot! We camped here in a Motorhome.
A beautiful park (Good Sam member) in the middle of the spectacular Gros Morne National Park. Our private site had evergreens and bushes on three sides and was well-groomed and graveled. Washrooms, laundry, and showers spotless. No cable TV - the norm for Newfoundland - but received CBC on the amplified antenna, and after an initial bout of crankiness, the Wi-Fi worked fine from the site.) Staff was friendly (ever meet an unfriendly Newfie?) and although we didn’t try it, they have a restaurant on site that gives campers a 10 percent discount - looked good to us. I would have given it an 8, but I reserve that rating for similarly nice CGs that invest in a pool and Cable/Sat TV. Highly recommended to all passing through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This KOA is in the middle of Gros Morne National Park. A beautiful setting that words can't describe. The park has a great playground with the lake across from the playground. Paddle boats and canoes are available for playing on the lake. The camp store had local handcrafts made by the owners family, and the owners (a young couple) have been living in the area all their life. We plan to stay here again on our way back down the western coast. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lovely quiet spot with excellent facilities and really nice people. A mixture of open and shaded sights. We'll definitely stay here again. (877) 488-3133 We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice RV Park close to the town of Rocky Harbor, with easy access to many of the attractions in the northern part of Gros Morne National Park. With the Good Sam club discount we paid $23.40 a night for full hookups and free WiFi. The National Park CG is $25 and NO hookups!! There are 3 separate areas to the RV Park: 1. For smaller rigs, under 30 feet and tents, private “L” shaped sites with trees on 3 sides. 2. A gravel parking area with full hookups where they usually put large groups or caravans 3. Nice back in sites by the office where we stayed. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here several nights while touring Gros Morne NP. Since we were in a small camper (Class B -van), we had a beautiful shaded site with lots of privacy. The sites for the big rigs were less desirable. All of the facilities were clean and well kept. There is no longer a restaurant on the premises. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here twice on our recent visit to Newfoundland. Very nice park. Level sites. They do accommodate caravans and big rigs but in an area that is essentially a gravel parking lot. Regular sites for smaller rigs are nice and have trees and shrubs on either side for privacy. Showers are clean. Free wifi was a welcome feature. There is a restaurant on premises but we didn't try it. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean, pleasant management, good roads, good wi-fi coverage included. Caters a lot to caravans and groups. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Restaurant on site. Cabin available with wood burning stove, sink with hot & cold running water, electricity - perfect for pot lucks or group gatherings. Owners live nearby and are full of information for tourists. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Your best choice for visiting the southern part of Gros Morne National Park. Water’s Edge is only $20/night. The National Park Campgrounds are $25.40 plus $7.80 per person daily entrance fee (per person) for nothing except a place to camp buried in dense trees and bugs. All of Water’s Edge sites are 20 feet from the waters edge with a beautiful view of the south arm of Bonne Bay. Back your trailer in and your back window is overlooking the water, pull your motor home in and your front window has the same view. There is some highway noise as the campsites are about 50 feet from the highway, but the highway does not have a lot of traffic. There are 3 or 4 tent sites on a grassy area for $15 as well. No dump station though. Wi-Fi available at library in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.
